The department of Zoology organized a webinar on "Importance of Mental health in Women during the pandemic" on 12th October 2020, at 11: am. The speaker of the webinar Dr. Anil Kumawat (M.D Psychiatry, Former psychiatrist SMS Medical Hospital) shared his knowledge and expertise with the participants using Google meet platform. The webinar was attended by UG (Pass course and Honours), PG students, Research Scholars and Faculty members of the Zoology Department.
The webinar was organized on the occasion of World mental health day which is celebrated on 10th October and as a part of World mental health week (4th-10th October). The speaker emphasised the factors influencing the mental health of Women during the pandemic. Gender discrimination, stress, hormonal disbalance, overburden responsibilities, social distancing etc. were some factors elaborated by the speaker. The symptoms of mental stress like depression, lack of interest, fatigue were brought forward by the expert. Different measures were suggested which could help females to combat the situations of mental stress.
Participants actively participated and discussed their queries. Participants discussed their personal experiences and problems related to the pandemic situation which were professionally dealt by the speaker.
The webinar was very beneficial for students and teachers in understanding the different situation encountered by the people. It will encourage the females to maintain mental well being using the measures suggested in the lecture.

The department of Zoology, IIS (Deemed to be University) Jaipur organized a quiz on Immunology on 18th September, 2019. Immunology is a branch of biology that covers the study of immune systems in all organisms. Immunology charts, measures, and contextualizes the physiological functioning of the immune system in states of both health and diseases; malfunctions of the immune system in immunological disorders; and the physical, chemical, and physiological characteristics of the components of the immune system. Quiz was organized for both UG and PG students of the department on the topics related to immunology. Teams were made where both UG and PG students were mixed in each team. The best team was awarded.
Immunology is a branch of biology that covers the study of immune systems in all organisms. The immune system refers to a collection of cells and proteins that function to protect the skin, respiratory passages, intestinal tract and other areas from foreign antigens, such as microbes, viruses, cancer cells, and toxins. Looking in to the importance of immunology department of Zoology, IIS (Deemed to be University) Jaipur organized a poster competition which was held on 9th October, 2018. Students prepared posters related to topics of immunology studied by them in there syllabi. The best posters were displayed on the Departmental Notice board. The students were awarded and certificates were given.
A Power point presentation competition on molecular techniques was organized by Department of Zoology, The IIS University, Jaipur, on 26th August 2018. M.Sc. students were given certain topics related to the molecular techniques and they prepared the power point slides for them and presented their work. This competition was to enhance the knowledge of students about various techniques used in the field of Molecular biology. There were different awards given to encourage the students to participate in such activities.
