The department of Zoology, IIS (Deemed to be University) Jaipur organized a quiz on Immunology on 18th September, 2019. Immunology is a branch of biology that covers the study of immune systems in all organisms. Immunology charts, measures, and contextualizes the physiological functioning of the immune system in states of both health and diseases; malfunctions of the immune system in immunological disorders; and the physical, chemical, and physiological characteristics of the components of the immune system. Quiz was organized for both UG and PG students of the department on the topics related to immunology. Teams were made where both UG and PG students were mixed in each team.  The best team was awarded.

Immunology is a branch of biology that covers the study of immune systems in all organisms. The immune system refers to a collection of cells and proteins that function to protect the skin, respiratory passages, intestinal tract and other areas from foreign antigens, such as microbes, viruses, cancer cells, and toxins. Looking in to the importance of immunology department of Zoology, IIS (Deemed to be University) Jaipur organized a poster competition which was held on 9th October, 2018. Students prepared posters related to topics of immunology studied by them in there syllabi. The best posters were displayed on the Departmental Notice board. The students were awarded and certificates were given.

A Power point presentation competition on molecular techniques was organized by Department of Zoology, The IIS University, Jaipur, on 26th  August 2018.  M.Sc. students were given certain topics related to the molecular techniques and they prepared the power point slides for them and presented their work.   This competition was to enhance the knowledge of students about various techniques used in the field of Molecular biology. There were different awards given to encourage the students to participate in such activities.

Department of Zoology organized a quiz competition for undergraduate students on 11th  August, 2015. The students participated enthusiastically. The students were asked about various techniques used in the field of biology. The whole event was a fun filled learning activity for all of them. Students were divided into different teams.  One team was awarded as winner. Students enjoyed the competition very much. Students learnt about new aspects of the techniques while encountering different questions related to the topic.

An oral presentation competition on immunological techniques was organized by Department of Zoology, The IIS University, Jaipur, on 23th January, 2015.  All the Students of B.Sc. Honors participated in the competition. This competition was to enhance the knowledge of students about various techniques used in the field of immunology. In this competition students presented their PPTs to explain the various techniques.  Different awards were given to encourage the students to participate in such activities.

A Poster presentation competition on Microbial diseases was organized by Department of Zoology, The IIS University, Jaipur, on  20th  August, 2014.  Students of B.Sc. Honors semester V, participated in the competition. Microbial Diseases are defined as sicknesses or ailments caused in animals and humans by the introduction of one of four different types of microbes; Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi and Protozoa. This competition was organized to enhance the knowledge of students about them.  Top three winners were awarded with the certificates.

Department of Zoology, The IIS University, Jaipur, organized a collage making competition on application of biotechnology on 13 March 2015.  Students of B.Sc. Pass course and Honors  participated in the competition. Certain topics related to biotechnology were given to them for which they had  to make collage.  This activity was planned with the objective to enhance the knowledge in the students with creativity about various applications of biotechnology. The students participated enthusiastically .The students were asked to identify the structure of amino acids of  and various questions regarding properties and levels of organization of protein was put forward for the students to answer .The whole event was a fun filled learning activity for all of them. Students were divided in four teams viz. A, B, C, and D. Prof. Bhatnagar, Dean of Life Sciences graced the event with his presence and felicitated the winners.

An activity was organized by the Department of Zoology on 7th February 2020, in which Dr. Pallavi Kaushik and Dr. Neetu Kachhwaha, Assistannt Professor, University of Rajasthan, introduced innovative zoology software by which students can learn classifications of the animals.  Zoology as a subject is loved by students as they get to know about themselves and animals around but the systematic classification is burdensome and they often face problems to memorize the classification of the vertebrates and invertebrates. There is a wide gap between the scientific knowledge of animal classification and student’s conception. A study showed that the students of elementary, secondary and college level when asked to do complete classification tasks, all age groups failed to generalize and discriminate among examples and non-examples of animals. The weakness in the basics of Zoology results in poor performances at all levels. It is also seen that during the examination the students skip and do not like to attempt these questions preferably. To solve the problem this website will help students at all levels to excel in the subject of zoology and solve basic problems. This will also help the students pursuing undergraduate (UG), post- graduation (PG) in science (Zoology as one their subject) and also students who are preparing for the competitive examinations like UGC-NET, RAS, NEET. Students of M.Sc. and B.Sc(H) attended the programme with great enthusiasm. This activity proved very useful for the students and faculty as well.
