The Department of Zoology, The IIS University organized an interactive session in AV Hall with Dr. Kerry M Kreiger an international environmental scientist, USA. His talk was on biodiversity and related environmental issues. He is an executive director of “SAVE THE FROGS” foundation a non-profit organization, which works in 57 countries including India for the conservation of amphibians and biodiversity. Since 2008, SAVE THE FROGS has been at the forefront of worldwide to protect amphibian populations and to promote a society that respects and appreciates nature and wildlife. SAVE THE FROGS organize educational events, rallies, and awareness programs in 57+ countries, helping to raise awareness, implement new legislation,create and restore wildlife habitat, empower the next generation of amphibian conservationists and introduce millions of people to the wild world of frogs. Dr. Kreiger enlightened the students and faculty with his words of wisdom. Dr. K.K. Sharma, former Vice Chancellor MDS University, Ajmer who accompanied Dr. Krieger during this visit also emphasized the importance of biodiversity and the need to conserve frogs (amphibians). The event was concluded by the vote of thanks of Dr. Lata Shahani, Head of the Department of Zoology, The IIS University.
