As the Organizing Secretary, I am privileged to present the report for the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Approaches in Life Sciences. Over the past 2 days, we have witnessed a remarkable confluence of intellect, innovation, and collaboration, bringing together scholars and experts from various life sciences domains.

The two-day International Conference On Multidisciplinary Approaches in Life Sciences held on 22-23 January 2025 was organized by the Department of Zoology, IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur in collaboration with, Yeungnam University, South Korea. Over the course of the conference, we conducted 3 technical sessions with oral and poster presentations. Topics ranged from molecular biology, biotechnology, and bioinformatics to ecology, environmental sustainability, and applied life sciences. It fostered vibrant exchanges of ideas, with participants exploring innovative solutions to contemporary challenges.

The conference began with the lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana. Prof. T. N. Mathur, Vice Chancellor, IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur. He extended a warm welcome to all the delegates. Prof. P. J. John, Dean, Faculty of Science, IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur, acquainted the audience with the aims and objectives of the conference, followed by the release of the abstract book by the dignitaries. Chief guest, Prof. Em. Suresh V. S. Rana, Former Vice Chancellor Bundelkhand University, Jhansi (U.P.) addressed the participants. Thereafter, Dr. Lata Shahani, Convener of the Conference, delivered a formal vote of thanks.

Prof. Em. Suresh V. S. Rana, delivered a thought-provoking keynote address titled “Cell Death: From Renaissance to Senescence.” He emphasized the pivotal role of apoptosis, necrosis, and autophagy in health and disease, linking cellular senescence to ageing and degenerative conditions.

In Technical Session-I, Ist speaker was Prof. Paul Raj Rajmani, School of Environmental Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi –110 067 who delivered his lecture on “Impact of electromagnetic radiation and metal oxide nanoparticles on Wistar rat”

The next speaker of the session was Dr. Ram Kishore Yadav, Department of Biological Sciences, IISER Mohali, who delivered a lecture on “Revitalizing the stem cell niche in the face of abiotic stress in Arabidopsis shoot apex”

Last speaker of the session, Prof. Dolly Kumar, Professor, (Retd.) Head, Department of Zoology, M.S University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujrat focussed on Integrated Pest Management (IPM)”

Technical session II comprised invited lectures by Prof. Krishan Kumar Sharma, Former Vice Chancellor, MDS University Ajmer and Dr. Ajit Kumar Toxicology and Computational Biology Group, Centre for Bioinformatics M. D. University, Rohtak, Haryana. Thereafter, the session was opened for oral presentations.

Day two of the conference began with the poster presentation session in which the posters were evaluated by Prof. Mukesh Kumar Sharma, Govt. College, Ajmer and Prof. Shelja K. Juneja, IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur.

The first speaker of the Technical Session III was Prof. Mukesh Kumar Sharma Professor, Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, Government College, Ajmer delivered a lecture on “Exploring the Role of the Non-Homologous End-Joining Repair Pathway of DNA Double Strand Breaks in Cancer Therapy”. The second speaker of this session was Dr. Rahul Shukla, Asst. Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER- R) delivered a talk on Nanoformulations for targeted neurotherapeutics via the intranasal route.

Thereafter online sessions for invited lectures were organized during which Dr. Ankur Sood Assistant Professor, School of Chemical Engineering, Yeungnam University, South Korea, Dr. Mudasir Ahmad Khanday, Instructor in Neurology, Department of Neurology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America, Dr. Vineet Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Yeungnam University, Korea and Dr Kanan Badri Narayan, Assistant professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Yeungnam University, Korea shared their knowledge and experience with the participants.

We are thankful for the enthusiastic participation of researchers, students, and industry professionals, which contributed immensely to the success of the conference. This event has not only advanced our collective knowledge but also paved the way for collaborative efforts in multidisciplinary research at large.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our management, the organizing team, the Technical team and all the student volunteers for their unwavering support. Together, we have made this conference a resounding success.
