Objective: 

Course Objectives:

This course will enable the students to –

1.    Develop an understanding of research aptitude

2.    Investigate new avenues, with the aim that a candidate does an extensive literature survey on a topic of choice and further takes up a project or dissertation on the same topic in the subsequent semester.

3.    Differentiate and evaluate the principles of good writing: Building the simplest possible words and sentences into concise, well-ordered arguments, using the paragraph as the basic unit of composition.

4.    Appraise and understand the application of statistics on data, in creating figures, graphs or other visual representations of data.

In a research project the candidate will be given a topic from the latest thrust research area. The candidate will prepare an experimental design, will conduct the related experiments and will write a thesis (dissertation). She will then present her research work in the form of powerpoint presentation during both the continuous assessment and semester end exams. Her dissertation thesis will be evaluated by an external expert. With this, candidates will learn various techniques and gain theoretical and practical knowledge of the topic and will develop good research and communication skills.
