PRACTICAL COMPARATIVE ANATOMY OF VERTEBRATES

The students will be able to-

CO1: Appraise the study of placoid, cycloid and ctenoid scales through permanent slides/photographs

 

CO2: Analyze  comparatively study of skeleton of Frog, Varanus, Fowl, Rabbit and mammalian skull 

 

CO3: Differentiate the Carapace and plastron of turtle /tortoise and different types of feathers

1. Study of placoid, cycloid and ctenoid scales through permanent slides/photographs

2.Study of different types of feathers

3. Disarticulated skeleton of Frog, Varanus, Fowl, Rabbit

4. Carapace and plastron of turtle /tortoise

5. Mammalian skulls: One herbivorous and one carnivorous animal

6. Dissection of rat to study arterial and urino-genital system(subject to permission)

7. Study of structure of any two organs (heart, lung, kidney, eye and ear) from

video recording (may be included if dissection not permitted)

8. Project on skeletal modifications in vertebrates (may be included if dissection not permitted)
