Objective: 
This course will enable the students to –
1. Develop detailed theoretical Knowledge about different human body systems and their physiological role in maintaining homeostasis.
2. Understand the structural organization and functions of the gastrointestinal tract and associated glands, including the processes of mechanical and chemical digestion.
3. Analyze the transport of oxygen and carbon dioxide in blood, respiratory pigments, dissociation curves, and factors influencing them, comprehending carbon monoxide poisoning and the control of respiration.

CO:37 Understand the structural organization and functions of the gastrointestinal tract and associated glands, including the processes of mechanical and chemical digestion.

CO:39 Explore the regulation of water balance and acid-base balance in the body, understanding their significance of kidneys in maintaining homeostasis. CO:40 Develop the components of blood and their functions, including the structure and functions of hemoglobin, and           comprehend     processes           like hemostasis and hematopoiesis.

CO:41 Outline the structure of the mammalian heart, its functioning, including cardiac output, regulation of heart rate, and blood pressure regulation, comprehending the electrocardiogram interpretation and cardiac cycle.
