Course objectives:  
This course will enable the students to 
1. Examine physiology of Endocrine glands and their hormones. 
2. Analyse the role of various endocrine glands in the body. 
3. Differentiate the role of hormones in male and female reproduction  
4. Systematize the mechanism of hormonal action and feedback inhibition.

● Hormones: Definition, Classification,Mechanism of Hormone action

● Position and Gross anatomy of all endocrine glands

  • Endocrine aspects of Hypothalamus: Hypothalamus- Pituitary relationship.
  • Pituitary Gland: Development of Pituitary gland ,Histological structure of Pituitary gland
  • Anterior Pituitary hormones:GH: Structure, Action, Abnormalities of GH secretion.
  • Posterior Pituitary hormones: ADH: Structure, Action, Abnormalities of ADH secretion
  • (All other Pituitary Hormones to be taken with respective glands)
