·         Teratological mechanism (mutation, chromosomal abnormalities, mitotic interference, interference with nucleic acid function, nutritional deficiencies , altered energy, changes in osmolarity, changes in cell membrane, enzyme inhibition.)

·         Teratogens; some specific examples.(Human and experimental animals)

Transport and biotransformation of xenobiotics by placenta/extra embryonic membranes.
