Objective: 
Course objectives: 
This course will enable the students to – 
1. Analyze the structures and purpose of basic components of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, especially macromolecules, membranes, and organelles. 
2. Distinguish the function, composition and properties of the plasma membrane. 
3. Interpret the principles of the cell theory, the importance of the nucleus and its components. 
4. Explain the process of cell division and its regulatory checkpoints. 
5. Illustrate the role of cytoskeleton.

CO 10: Analyse the functioning of  nucleus and extra nuclear  organelles and understand the  intricate cellular mechanisms  involved.  

CO 11: Develop an  understanding how cells work in  healthy and diseased states and  to give a ‘health forecast’ by  analyzing the genetic database  and cell information. 

CO 12: Investigate the  importance of the nucleus and its  components. 

CO 13: Perceive detailed  knowledge about the process of  cell division and its regulatory  checkpoints. 

CO 14: Examine the three  primary components of the cell’s  cytoskeleton and how they affect  cell shape, function, and  movement.
