The students participated enthusiastically .The students were asked to identify the structure of amino acids of  and various questions regarding properties and levels of organization of protein was put forward for the students to answer .The whole event was a fun filled learning activity for all of them. Students were divided in four teams viz. A, B, C, and D. Prof. Bhatnagar, Dean of Life Sciences graced the event with his presence and felicitated the winners.

An activity was organized by the Department of Zoology on 7th February 2020, in which Dr. Pallavi Kaushik and Dr. Neetu Kachhwaha, Assistannt Professor, University of Rajasthan, introduced innovative zoology software by which students can learn classifications of the animals.  Zoology as a subject is loved by students as they get to know about themselves and animals around but the systematic classification is burdensome and they often face problems to memorize the classification of the vertebrates and invertebrates. There is a wide gap between the scientific knowledge of animal classification and student’s conception. A study showed that the students of elementary, secondary and college level when asked to do complete classification tasks, all age groups failed to generalize and discriminate among examples and non-examples of animals. The weakness in the basics of Zoology results in poor performances at all levels. It is also seen that during the examination the students skip and do not like to attempt these questions preferably. To solve the problem this website will help students at all levels to excel in the subject of zoology and solve basic problems. This will also help the students pursuing undergraduate (UG), post- graduation (PG) in science (Zoology as one their subject) and also students who are preparing for the competitive examinations like UGC-NET, RAS, NEET. Students of M.Sc. and B.Sc(H) attended the programme with great enthusiasm. This activity proved very useful for the students and faculty as well.

M.Sc. students of Zoology, IIS (Deemed to be) University, Jaipur went for a “Workshop on Insect Identification & Preservation Techniques” on 15th October, 2019, organized by “Vivekanand Global University, Jaipur”. This workshop was aimed to provide the detailed information regarding various insect species identification on the basis of their taxonomic keys and to give the hand on training for preservation techniques.  We are thankful to IIS (Deemed to be University) for promoting the students for participation in such informative workshop and training session. Scientist from the Zoological Survey of India gave hands on training on capturing, identification and storage of different insects. Students learnt about various insect species, how to identify insect on the basis of very specific characteristic. These techniques will be very informative and useful to PG students.

Department of Zoology organized a Guest lecture on 18th October, 2019 which was delivered by Dr. S.J.S.
